With a mixer in need of service leading us to Bosch, fate had it that we would stumble upon this charming retreat near the service centre. The cafe's high ceilings and full-length windows invite the sunlight to dance across the space, creating a warm embrace that beckons you to stay a while.
The menu is as straightforward as it is tempting, with a focus that honours the art of coffee brewing. An all-day breakfast selection offers pancakes, an assortment of sandwiches, toast, eggs, and omelettes, priced so kindly, you would want to order everything twice. For the midday rush, the simple lunch menu does not disappoint with roast chicken, beef meatballs alongside heart-warming sides, and a range of sandwiches and soups that remind you of home.
I opted for the meat lovers’ burger ($16.90), a symphony of two 100g beef patties, oozing with cheese and crowned with bacon, flanked by a side of chips. I thoroughly enjoyed it, each bite a testament to the simple joy of well-cooked, hearty food. The missus chose the mushroom melt sandwich ($5.50) – a harmony of sautéed mushrooms and melted cheese, hugged by grilled wheat bread. It is the sort of meal that whispers comfort with every mouthful.
