Green Chilli Chicken Rice

We came here for Ben's favourite childhood carrot cake but it was closed unfortunately. So we joined the longest queue in the food centre for this Halal Green Chilli Chicken Rice.

Each Green Chilli Chicken Rice Set comes with a piece of well marinated chicken Maryland deep fried until reddish brown and topped with the signature green chili which looks like a chutney to me - crushed green chilli with lots of onion. It looks simple but is packed with flavour and not too spicy. The faintly-flavoured basmati rice is light, fluffy and not as greasy as the usual Chinese chicken rice. If you find the overall dish too dry, mix the rice with the slightly sweet and smoky red sambal, like Nasi Lemak. The fish keropok adds extra crunch to the meal.

Overall a very delicious yet economical meal. Queue does not lie!
