Rong Fa (Mui Siong) Minced Meat Noodles

Do not be deceived by the lack of queue in front of the noodle stall. On this weekday, we waited close to an hour after placing order for our bowls of Bak Chor Mee (BCM)!

This BCM stall is managed by a sister team who is actually the second-generation of the now-defunct original Mui Siong Minced Meat Noodle stall in Rochor Centre. That explains the "Mui Siong" in their stall name.

Disgruntled with the 60 minutes of my life lost, I was no where in high spirits when the queue buzzer finally vibrated. But my frustration quickly turned into pleasure with just one bite of the pork liver. Timing is everything when it comes to cooking pork liver and this place did it almost perfectly. I ordered a separate bowl of pork liver (dry version). It was thickly sliced, the texture was tender and creamy inside and flavoured by the savoury, spicy and sour condiment sauce mixture. Really a joy to eat.

While the pork liver could be the star entirely on its own, I enjoyed the noodle and soup too. Here the wavy Mee Pok was served in a separate bowl with lots of fried shallots and garlic chips and tossed in the same delicious sauce as the pork liver. While the rest of the ingredients like lean pork slices, pork liver, fish cake, meat balls were served in a bowl of robust soup.

Waited an hour for the food but finished everything in less than 15 minutes! I would definitely come back again especially for the liver but not during peak lunch hours.
