TAK!

Housed in a beautifully restored hanok, TAK blends Scandinavian baking with Korean charm. The space is rustic yet modern, with an open bakery where the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the room. It is easy to see why it has become one of Gyeongju's favourite brunch spots.

TAK! is best known for its excellent sourdough, flaky pastries and signature cardamom buns. We couldn't resist ordering a spread of pastries, a sourdough plate, and coffee. The bread was outstanding with a crisp crust, airy crumb and plenty of character, while the coffee was equally impressive, brewed from carefully selected light roast beans. The cardamom bun was fragrant, buttery and just sweet enough to keep us reaching for another bite.

It isn't the cheapest café in town, but quality rarely is. Every pastry and every cup of coffee reflected the care and craftsmanship behind them.

If you appreciate good bread as much as good coffee, TAK! is worth making a stop for. It is the kind of café where you happily linger a little longer, enjoying breakfast at an unhurried pace before heading off to explore the timeless streets of Gyeongju.
