Colmar - our home base for the next four days in Alsace, and what a charming little town to call "home" for a bit. The moment we arrived, it felt like we had walked straight into a fairy tale, where every corner is a postcard waiting to happen.

I ended up doing two rounds around the town on the very first day. First right after lunch, braving the Alsace summer sun. The colours of the half-timbered houses were in full bloom, reflecting off the canals like a painter’s palette gone wild. Then, after dinner, just before sunset, I walked the same streets again. The light softened, the crowds thinned, and Colmar slipped into a quieter, more magical mood. Same streets, totally different feeling.

It is the kind of place where you lose track of time, but no one really minds.
