Petite-France, Strasbourg

From Frankfurt, we drove to Kehl, a small German town right at the border. Our rental car did not have a French Crit’Air sticker which was required for driving into Strasbourg so we did the sensible thing and parked at Kehl Bahnhof. From there, we hopped onto a tram that took us straight into the heart of Strasbourg. Smooth, easy, and honestly, quite fun crossing borders by tram!

We spent the entire morning wandering through the fairytale district of Petite-France. It is easy to see why this UNESCO-listed quarter is such a magnet for visitors, yet it somehow manages to remain calm and idyllic. With its flower-filled balconies, half-timbered houses and quiet canals, this charming old quarter felt like walking through a storybook. Every corner begged to be photographed. The reflections on the water, the crooked beams, even the vintage signage. It was all postcard-perfect.

We strolled slowly, taking in the details, soaking up the calm, and enjoying the rare luxury of time. There were no big plans, just good company and a beautiful place. Petite-France has that kind of magic.
