It is funny how a holiday can stay with you long after you have unpacked your suitcase. Sometimes all it takes is a familiar aroma to transport you right back.
Missing Greece, I decided to recreate a few dishes that reminded us of our wonderful days in Naxos. Prawn orzo, grilled octopus tentacles, pork cheek and baked Arseniko cheese, all inspired by the island we fell in love with. They may not have come from a seaside taverna, but they certainly brought back plenty of happy memories.
Cooking these dishes reminded me that the best souvenirs are not the ones we bring home in our luggage, but the recipes, flavours and memories we can share again around the family table.
