Audrey asked me to surprise her with a pasta dish that she had not tried before for her birthday and I did that by topping her favourite penne with MaPo Tofu, a dish that she has been craving a lot recently. I added prawns with minced pork to give the tofu dish more chunky bites. This along with the thick spicy and savoury gravy, makes the MaPo tofu dish an amazing sauce for the cylindrical pasta.
For starter, I baked individual seafood au gratin using her favourite scallops and salmon belly.
Main course was another of her favourite dish - Indian Butter Chicken, served with Bhindi Fry (Stir-fry ladyfinger with onion, ikan bilis and cashew nuts) and basmati rice.
Most importantly, the girl enjoyed this truly multi-cultural birthday dinner!
