The restaurant is housed in a Kyo-Machiya (Traditional Kyoto wooden townhouse) near Kiyomizu-dera Temple and specialises in Tofu cuisine.
The protein-rich and healthy meal comes with pots of Yudofu (boiled tofu) and DIY Yuba (tofu skin). Thick and warm soya milk is served in a hotpot over slow fire. As the surface starts to thicken and wrinkle to form tofu skin, use a chopstick to remove the yuba and dip it into the sauce provided.
Besides the DIY tofu pots, each tofu set is served with boxes of delicate tofu and soya bean related items and side dishes.
This is truly an amazing and interesting culinary experience of this trip.
