This Ramen eatery is part of a restaurant chain that has 233 branches in 38 of Japan's prefectures.
I have my typical skepticism towards chain restaurants that usually over expand and mass produce food with no character and soul but I am impressed with Tenkaippin's (天下一品) ramen - thin Kyushu-style noodle served in a super thick chicken soup with char siew slices, onsen egg, menma (bamboo shoots) and lots of scallions.
The outlets are conveniently located everywhere with casual setup and consistently serve good quality Kyoto-style ramen, fried rice and other side dishes for a fuss-free eat-and-go meal.
You must try this at least once while in Kyoto!
