Warong Hjh Kamisah

As I walked around the food centre, I spotted these Ayam and Ikan Penyet on many tables and I was intrigued. One of the diners pointed me to this stall, Warong Hjh Kamisah, and I immediately joined the long queue.

With such constant long queue and fast turnaround, you are guaranteed that the chicken and fish are freshly deep-fried and served on the spot.

The pomfret fish penyet I had was so huge that it covered almost the whole plate. At $6.50 (Usual price $6 - they adjusted their price slightly which I believe it was due to the size and cost of the fish that day), this was really a steal! The skin was crispy and the meat still piping hot and fresh. It was an amazing combination with the homemade sambal, rice, begedil (potato patty) and fish keropok (cracker). The chicken version ($4.50) was equally good too. Shiok to the max!

Obviously their East Javanese style Ayam and Ikan Penyet are the most popular during lunch time but there are other items on the menu like Lotong, Mee Soto and Mee Rebus which I will definitely try the next time I am here.
