XEIXA
Our final meal of this trip was nothing short of delightful at XEIXA in Barcelona. This gem brought together tradition and modern creativity in a way that truly impressed me. From the beautifully curated dishes to the thoughtful use of local ingredients, each plate was a story of innovation layered with history.
The open kitchen, with its lively buzz, gave the meal a theatrical touch, showcasing the chefs’ precision and artistry. The vibrant presentation of the dishes was a feast for both the eyes and palate. The Red Shrimp Carpaccio was an elegant start, delicate and fresh with every bite. The Smoked Baba Ganoush, presented in a playful ceramic aubergine, was smoky, creamy, and packed with flavour, a modern twist on a classic.
We savoured the perfectly crisp Iberico Ham Croquettes and their Squid and Shrimp counterparts, both rich and indulgent yet crafted with finesse. The aged bone-in steak that followed was a feast in itself, juicy and well-seasoned, a true testament to the quality of their ingredients.
Dining here leans on the costly side, but the experience, equal parts culinary adventure and celebration of culture, felt worth it. The ambiance, with its warm lighting and rustic stone walls, made it the perfect setting for a memorable meal to round off this trip.
Sometimes, it is not just about the food but the entire narrative a place can deliver. XEIXA told its story well - fun, vibrant, and proudly rooted in tradition. A fitting end to our journey.
