Au Soleil Wettolsheim
Our lunch at Au Soleil, just a short stroll from Domaine Antoine Ehrhart, was the perfect way to continue the day. Thanks to Caroline for securing the reservation! The restaurant, part of the Hôtel-Restaurant-Spa Au Soleil, serves up classic Alsatian flavours with a modern flair in a cosy timber-framed dining room.
We started with buttery escargots and (you guessed it) beef tartare, which we order almost religiously whenever it is on the menu. For mains, we had the grilled veal fillet and beef fillet both in red wine sauce, and sea bass with risotto in a sunny saffron-hued sauce. Ended sweet with their brioche dessert drizzled in vanilla sauce and served with ice cream. Comforting, elegant, and full of flavour, just how we like our meals in Alsace.
