Lunch in Bern was at Restaurant Rosengarten, a spot that feels both relaxed and a little special at the same time. The menu leans Mediterranean; think fresh salads, falafel, tartare, lamb, and hearty cuts of beef, all paired nicely with a glass of local wine. The food itself was decent and enjoyable but the real star here wasn’t on the plate, it was the view.
From the restaurant’s terrace, you get the most breathtaking panorama of Bern’s old town - terracotta rooftops stretching across the Aare River, framed by lush greenery. It is the kind of view that makes you pause between bites just to soak it all in, and it almost feels unfair to be eating with such a backdrop distracting you.
One practical note though, parking is a challenge. We had to leave the car quite a distance away and walk uphill to reach the park. Depending on where you park, the gradient can be quite tricky. Still, once you sit down with a plate of food and that sweeping view in front of you, it feels worth every step.
