A good meal with the family

A friend recently commented that our home cooked meals seem a little too heavy on meat.

Well, I must admit, we are a family of meat lovers! But I have always believed in balancing our meals with plenty of vegetables and some carbs. And here's the photographic evidence to defend myself!

For this dinner at Restaurant 2706, there was only ONE meat dish. A beautifully grilled Wagyu Picanha, cooked medium rare, just the way we like it.

The rest of the spread? Burrata with Jamón Ibérico, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil, pan grilled zucchini, roasted sweet potatoes, and freshly baked milk bread rolls served with herb butter.

A good mix of protein, vegetables, carbs and, of course, a little indulgence. Although I suspect my friend might argue that the Jamón Ibérico counts as a second meat. But surely that's just a garnish? ????

At the end of the day, I believe in eating well, enjoying a variety of food and, most importantly, sharing a good meal with the family.
