Château La Fleur Peyrabon Vertical Tasting

Our recent vertical tasting of Château La Fleur Peyrabon offered a fascinating glimpse into the estate's evolution, featuring the 1995, 1996, and 2011 vintages. Each vintage revealed its unique place in the château's history, particularly highlighting the changes post-1998 when the estate changed hands, marking the start of its modern era.

The 1995 vintage, intriguingly past its prime drinking window, displayed a complexity that spoke of its age. Its flavours, now mellowed and earthy, reflected a bygone era of winemaking at the château, offering a taste of history in each sip.

The 1996 vintage was close behind, seemingly at or just beyond its peak. This wine balanced mature, subdued fruit with hints of oak, resembling a cherished, slightly timeworn family heirloom.

The 2011 vintage, from the more recent era, stood out with its distinctly modern style. Being younger, it showcased a fresher, more vibrant character. This shift in style, post the estate's acquisition in 1998, was evident in its brighter fruit profile and more approachable palate.

Tasting these vintages together underscored the elegance and evolving nature of Château La Fleur Peyrabon. It was a journey through time, showing how wines change and develop, much like our own life stories.
