La Basse Cour
The cold in Lagrasse that day was biting, cutting through even the thickest of layers. After exploring the historic Abbaye, we sought refuge at La Basse Cour, a cosy bistro that offered both warmth and hearty fare.
The rustic charm of the space was instantly inviting, and the food was equally comforting. We started with classic French onion soup, its rich, savoury broth topped with crusty bread and melted cheese, just the thing to warm us up. Creamy devilled eggs, slices of cured ham, and a beautifully cooked steak with crisp fries followed, each dish satisfying in its own rustic way.
La Basse Cour gave us a much-needed pause from the chill, leaving us with full bellies and a newfound appreciation for simple pleasures on a frosty day.
