Nómada again

We were back at Nómada for dinner, a cosy room with a good buzz and dim lighting that makes conversation flow. The menu here leans modern rather than traditional Spanish, and we shared plates - grilled oysters with spicy ’nduja, Peruvian seabass ceviche, sautéed wild mushrooms with egg yolk, homemade flatbread with za’atar, aubergine and yoghurt, foie with Hokkaido scallops, vanilla & parsnip purée, and the Spanish suckling pig with apple compote.

Overall the food was decent. The mushrooms were comforting once the yolk was stirred through, and the flatbread was warm, herby and easy to like. The suckling pig looked the part with crisp skin, but there was a faint porky note that held it back; without that, it could have been a highlight.

What I liked most was the vibe: friendly service, lively music, and a room that suits birthdays and catch-ups with family or friends. Fun detail - on special nights like this, Chef Gonzalo even turned DJ and spun tracks for birthday guests. It added a playful sparkle to the evening and made the celebration feel that bit more personal.
