Oso Ristorante

As the ruby-red hues of the Oddero Barbera d'Alba Superiore 2021 danced in my glass, I embarked on a culinary journey at OSO Italian Restaurant, renowned for its harmony of traditional flavours and modern flair. Our antipasti, a cold pork belly "Pancetta", lay elegantly on the plate, dressed in a vibrant Parsley Bagnetto Sauce. Each bite was a playful tango of succulent pork and the herbal zing of the sauce - a delightful prelude to the evening's symphony of tastes.

Next up, the Carnaroli rice risotto was a bold affair, its grains swathed in the luxurious embrace of Iranian saffron and a Nebbiolo wine reduction. Paired with the young vivacity of Oddero Langhe Nebbiolo 2021.

The primi course presented an ode to patience: 8-hours slow-cooked lamb ribs. The lamb's tender fibres was infused with cloves and caressed by a red currant sauce - a striking contrast to the robust embrace of the Oddero Barolo 2019. The meat fell apart with a mere nudge, as if to whisper secrets of its prolonged affair with time and heat.

The secondi was a gratinated beef tenderloin. Grilled green asparagus stood sentinel around the beef, their charred tips pointing to perfection. The Oddero Barolo Villero 2019, with its noble lineage, lent an air of aristocracy to the dish, its tannins locking arms with the beef's rich flavours in a ballet of balance.

Dolci was Honey-Beetroot Cake served warm. Its earthy sweetness offset by a playful Moscato d’Asti sauce. The sweet ending was paired with the effervescent Oddero Moscato d’Asti 2022 that left the palate refreshed and the heart longing for more.

In the soft glow of OSO's ambience, the evening culminated with the cherished company of old friends. Over the final, lingering notes of wine, laughter and nostalgia blended seamlessly, a reminder that the finest vintage is the company we keep. Here's to old friends and new memories, all within the embrace of OSO's hospitality. Cheers!
