We left Yangshuo early this morning and took a short drive out, thinking it would be a gentle start to the day. The road was quiet, the air still cool, and before long we arrived at 银子岩 in Lipu. From the outside, it looked calm and almost ordinary, but once we stepped inside, everything changed.
The cave opened up slowly, then all at once. Walls of rock shimmered under colourful lights, reflecting on still pools of water like a mirror. The paths were well laid out and easy to walk, which made it a comfortable visit even for a mixed group like ours.
Some people say the lighting is dramatic, maybe even a little theatrical, but standing there in person, it was hard not to be impressed. The scale of the cave, the textures on the rock, and the quiet echo of footsteps made the whole experience feel immersive and memorable.
After coming back out into daylight, we wandered past small stalls selling fresh juice, fruits, and local snacks. Simple things, but they felt just right after the cave.
It was a lovely morning outing from Yangshuo, unhurried and surprisingly rewarding.
