La Bottega Enoteca

La Bottega Enoteca has earned its name as one of Singapore’s top Italian restaurants and one of Asia’s best pizzerias, ranked among the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific for their signature Newpolitan® and DoubleCrunch® pizzas. But beyond the famous crusts, there is much more to love here.

We started with Sarde in Saor “Bottega” - beautifully marinated sardines layered with onions, pine nuts and raisins, served on a soft, slightly sweet maritozzo bun. A lovely Venetian touch with a modern presentation. Then came the Porchetta Arrosto - slow-cooked Spanish pork belly perfumed with wild fennel. Thinly sliced, crisp edges, tender layers of fat and meat, simply divine.

Of course, we had to try their famous pizzas. We had both styles: the Newpolitan - chewy with a light, airy crust; and the DoubleCrunch - crisp yet soft within. The Gamberi (prawns, pesto, peperone crusco) won me over with its bright, zesty flavours, while the Crunch Sarde was rich and savoury with cured sardines and robiola cheese.

As a meat lover, the Pluma alla Griglia - grilled Spanish Iberico pork with Sicilian capers and Sangiovese reduction was my favourite dish of the night. Juicy, smoky and well-balanced. The Tagliatelle al Ragù di Manzo was hearty but the beef short rib ragu could be more tender for my liking.

Their wine selection is not extensive, but they offer a friendly 1-for-1 BYO wine policy.

Every dish showed care and quality, not just the pizzas they are known for. A cosy space where you can taste the chef’s pride in every plate. Would definitely return, though next time, I’m saving more room for that DoubleCrunch.
