Abundance

When my loyal Liverpool supporter friend insisted I try out a Taiwanese street food restaurant called Abundance, also cleverly known as A-Bun-Dance, I knew it was an opportunity not to be missed as he had been raving about the food here on numerous occasions. Recently opening its second outlet at Jalan Besar, Abundance specializes in Taiwanese street food with a modern twist. Intrigued by the name and the promise of delightful flavours, I ventured into this culinary haven and discovered a true dance of flavours that left me wanting more.

Taiwanese Street Food with a Modern Twist:
Abundance is a haven for Taiwanese street food enthusiasts seeking a contemporary take on classic flavours. Every dish is crafted with a meticulous attention to detail, elevating traditional street food to new heights of culinary artistry.

Signature Dish - Kua Bao:
The star of Abundance's menu is undoubtedly the Kua Bao, a soft steamed bun sandwich bursting with tantalizing flavours. Picture this: succulent pork belly, generously sprinkled with grounded peanuts and preserved mustard greens, all nestled within a pillowy bun. The combination of textures and the balance of savoury and tangy flavours create a taste sensation that leaves a lasting impression.

Bun Options to Delight the Palate:
While the Kua Bao takes center stage, Abundance offers a range of other mouthwatering bun options to explore. The CCB (Crispy Chicken Bun) promises a crispy and satisfying experience with its perfectly fried chicken fillet paired with the fluffy bun. For seafood lovers, the slated egg prawn buns offer a delightful combination of succulent prawns and the rich flavours of salted egg. These bun variations ensure that there's something for every palate.

Beyond Buns - Culinary Treasures Await:
Abundance does not stop at buns, their menu is filled with other delectable dishes worth exploring. The Niu Yolk Fried Rice showcases tender boneless beef short ribs slices, sous-vide and torched, mingling with fragrant Ding-Tai-Feng-style fried rice, perfectly complemented by a luscious sous-vide egg, black truffle and heap of Tobiko.

Additionally, the prawn toast, a crispy delight, highlights the freshness of prawn paste on top of a golden, crunchy toast.

The Braised Beef Noodle, a tantalizing dish featuring tender, succulent beef golden coin simmered to perfection, served atop choice of broad or thin noodles. The richness of the braised golden coin melds harmoniously with the flavours of the beef broth, creating a satisfying combination that is sure to please your taste buds.

Happy Endings - Peanut or Sesame Ice Cream Rolls:
To conclude your meal on a delightful note, Abundance offers a selection of happy endings in the form of peanut or sesame ice cream rolls. Imagine creamy vanilla ice cream enrobed in fresh springy popiah-like skin, creating a harmonious blend of flavours and textures. These playful and unique desserts are a perfect way to end your dining experience at Abundance.

A Youthful Atmosphere:
As we entered Abundance, we were greeted by a bustling crowd, predominantly composed of enthusiastic youngsters. The vibrant ambiance and energetic atmosphere added to the overall appeal of the restaurant, creating an inviting space to enjoy a memorable meal with friends or family.

Conclusion:
Abundance, with its clever play on words as A-Bun-Dance, is more than just a Taiwanese street food restaurant - It is an invitation to embark on a culinary adventure. From their signature Kua Bao and a range of delectable bun options to tantalizing dishes like Niu Yolk Fried Rice, prawn toast and other side dishes, Abundance seamlessly blends tradition and innovation. To top it all off, the peanut or sesame ice cream rolls provide a sweet and satisfying finale.
