Gathering with my fellow Liverpool brothers and sisters at East Treasure was a true delight as we savoured a mouthwatering dinner together. Located at Toa Payoh Central, this restaurant is the perfect spot for a satisfying meal and some quality bonding time. As we eagerly await the new season, let's dive into what makes East Treasure a standout dining destination.
East Treasure boasts its third outlet, with the flagship location at Clarke Quay currently undergoing renovations and another outlet at Woodlands Square. While we eagerly anticipate the reopening of the Clarke Quay branch, the Toa Payoh Central outlet offered us a delightful culinary experience.
My personal favourite dish at East Treasure has always been their signature crocodile tonic soup. Its rich herbal and aromatic broth delighted our senses and set the tone for a truly remarkable dining experience.
When the previous head chef, Chef Francis, was helming the kitchen at East Treasure, he would offer us interesting off-menu dishes whenever we visited the restaurant. One gem from Chef Francis' repertoire was his Kam Heong fish head. Deep-fried fish head pieces stir-fried in the magical Kam Heong sauce, this dish was a symphony of flavours. The dried shrimp, curry leaves, curry powder, shallots, and other secret ingredients in the Kam Heong sauce created an intense and aromatic experience that left us craving for more.
If you are in the mood for something truly special, don't miss the 60-hour dry-aged roasted duck. This delectable dish requires pre-ordering to ensure you don't miss out. The long aging process infuses the duck with an incredible depth of flavour, making it an absolute must-try for any discerning food lover.
Another standout dish created by Chef Francis is the stuffed eggplant with minced pork, a humble Hakka dish that has been elevated to new heights with the addition of abalone sauce and a side of spinach. What used to be an off-menu dish has rightfully earned its place on the chef's special menu.
While the flavours of East Treasure fuel our passion for both football and gastronomy, I eagerly await the reopening of East Treasure's flagship outlet at Clarke Quay as I look forward to experiencing their culinary delights closer to home.
