PD Cafe Petit Tiong Bahru

When PS Cafe Petit first graced the charming streets of Tiong Bahru in 2010, my little ones were just as petite as the cafe itself. Ashley was taking her first steps into primary school, Audrey was navigating the adventures of pre-school, and Ashton, well, he was still toddling around in diapers. It is amazing how time has flown, just like the delicious aromas that used to waft from that small test kitchen.

Back in those early days, PS Cafe Petit was all about takeaways, as they had not yet acquired the full F&B license that would allow them to welcome diners to sit and savour their offerings. But that did not stop us from becoming regular patrons. Why? Because it quickly became our go-to spot for an array of culinary delights.

However, as all good things must come to an end, the news hit us like a flavour explosion – PS Cafe Petit Tiong Bahru is closing its doors at the end of October. We were devastated. You see, this cafe was more than just a place to enjoy a meal; it was a repository of our memories, a slice of our life living in Tiong Bahru, and an integral part of our kids' childhood.

So, last evening, we decided to make a pilgrimage back to the cafe that had been such a significant part of our journey. We were greeted by the ever-friendly manager, Eric, who had been there since Day 1, welcoming us with a warm smile and open arms. It felt like a reunion with an old friend.

As we savoured the kids' favourite bianca funghi pizza, shrimps and crab pasta, sticky date pudding and wines at retail price, we could not help but reminisce about all the wonderful moments we had shared here. PS Cafe Petit had been more than just a cafe, it had been a backdrop to our lives, a place where laughter and joy were served alongside mouthwatering dishes.

PS Cafe Petit, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Farewell, dear friend, and thank you for the taste and being part of Tiong Bahru that will forever linger on our tongues and in our memories.
