There was something strangely satisfying about having a barbecue lunch in the middle of the Aegean Sea while Mambo Jambo music blasted across our private catamaran. No fine dining, no complicated cooking. Just grilled prawns, juicy chicken chops, smoky sausages, simple pasta, Greek salad, cold wines and beers and endless sunshine.
Maybe it was the sea breeze, maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was simply being surrounded by friends with nowhere else to be for the afternoon. Somewhere between the dancing, laughter and icy blue Mediterranean waters, we all felt a little younger again.
Sometimes the best meals are not about what is on the plate, but where you are and who you are sharing it with.
