Weekend dinners at home are always special. This time, I kept things light and bright starting with my version of salmon crudo – fresh sashimi salmon dressed in orange and lime juice, cubes of sweet mango, and just a little heat from red peppercorns. It was like summer in a bowl – refreshing, colourful, and gone in minutes.
For something hearty, I made handmade gnocchi. Instead of boiling, I pan-fried them until golden and crisp on the outside, chewy inside. These little nuggets sat on a bed of creamy mushroom sauce, earthy and rich. When we tossed everything together, each bite had that perfect balance – crisp, chewy, creamy.
Simple dishes, but they came alive at the table with family around. Good food does not just fill the stomach, it fills the room with warmth and chatter – the best kind of seasoning.
