Wing Seong Fatty's Restaurant

Back again at Wing Seong Fatty’s Restaurant with Jazz before she flew back to Canada, a proper send-off with all the familiar dishes we all love. Fatty's is the kind of place where the food speaks louder than any fancy décor. Plates after plates of hearty dishes, cooked with that unmistakable wok hei, landed on the table, and we knew we were in for a feast.

We ordered the usual suspects: beef with spring onion, sweet and sour pork, salted egg squid, claypot liver, roast duck, homemade tofu, stir-fried beansprouts with salted fish and pea shoots. Every dish well-cooked and on point.

It was not just about the dishes, though. Eating here always feels like a throwback to family dinners of the past, when Cantonese Zhi Char places were everywhere, and weekends meant gathering around a big round table, passing dishes, and competing for the last piece of duck.

For Jazz, it was one last taste of home before the long flight back. For us, another reminder that these moments, shared over simple Cantonese classics, are worth more than gold.
